Place in time

A body of work documenting year nine students at five Christchurch secondary schools, Aranui High, Cashmere High, Christ's College, Hagley Community College and St Margaret's College.

Made in response to the Christchurch earthquake of February 22nd 2011, Orientation is a body of work conceived to be seen primarily within the context of an artist book.

The Cardboard Cathedral project captured the imagination of many, nationally and internationally. The building slowly rose, put together step by step, tube by tube, day by day – the handwork of those who believed in the idea.

Bloodlines​ documents places of cultural and historical significance associated with Ngāi Tahu Māori and uses photography as a means of retracing the footsteps of Arabella's ancestors.

Through the Trees was born from a series of trips Mitchell Bright took to the outskirts of rural parts of the South Island, mostly in an effort to escape the confines of the city.

Examining relationships with immediate family, close friends and the natural landscape, the Winter Garden negotiates the complexity in reconciling Christchurch as the place McFetridge grew up in and an earthquake affected city.
