We Passed the Setting Sun
As part of a series begun in 2010, Auckland-based photographer Chris Corson-Scott seeks out landscapes and spaces within Aotearoa New Zealand which carry with them a particular historical or environmental significance and resonance. Exploring themes of deforestation, industrial exploitation and Auckland’s housing crisis, these are pictures of a young land scarred by people – as Colin McCahon called it, “a landscape with too few lovers”.
